Now Playing Tracks

honestly one of my favorite moments in twewy is that scene where joshua and neku meet nao and sota and they are all discussing the game and joshua purposely brings up the fact that at the end of week, only one player gets the option of reincarnation, and neku’s like what the hell, don’t, but josh just presses on all NO ONE IS YOUR FRIEND, everyone is competition, including your partner. because he’s an asshole. because he enjoys instigating that moment of dejection. because who the fuck knows. buT NAO AND SOTA, BLESS THEM, THAT DOESN’T SHAKE THEM ONE BIT. if your partner is your entry fee, that must mean you really care about her, and you should never feel guilty about someone being important to you!!!!!!!! THEY ARE BOTH TOTALLY OKAY LIMBO IF IT MEANS GIVING THE OTHER ONE A SECOND CHANCE!!!!!!! EVERYONE WANTS TO LIVE. NO ONE “DESERVES” TO WIN.

and that just, throws them both through a loop. since they are both such exceedingly asocial, isolated, fend-for-yourself kids. neku is still growing into the idea that the world is so much larger than only him, realizes that you can’t measure people’s values because despite their differences they are all important.

and you can’t really tell what josh is feeling, because you can never fucking tell what josh is feeling, but you get the sense that the conversation did not go the way he expected it to (because he expects the worse) he cALLS THEM CHARMING, HE IS VISIBLY UPSET BY THEIR DEATH, and you gotta wonder if he has ever been confronted with such a situation where people are so honestly, selflessly open to putting someone else before them. did he even think people were capable of that. maybe he started changing his mind a whole lot sooner than the showdown.
